The New Mosaics

The subtitle, '40 projects to make with glass, metal, paper, beans, buttons, felt, found objects and more' will begin to give you something of the flavour of this book, and it really lives up to its promise. It took me quite a time to realise what some of the mosaics were made from and when I realised, I thought 'why not!'.

The designs have been drawn from a number of artists from different backgrounds so the projects are as varied as the materials used. Each is described in detail but without talking down to the reader, a failing with many basic instruction books. To inspire the reader, there is a 'gallery' section featuring some fascinating mosaic artists and their work, many of whom were new to me.
