OTRANTO, THE MOSAIC - SETH’S JOURNEY

The strange and incredible mosaic on the floor of the Cathedral at Otranto depicting a ‘family tree’ of the early chapters of Genesis has been the subject of much speculation. This book and the accompanying DVD documentary seek to unravel the iconography and meaning of the mosaic for the first time. In particular it looks at the story of Seth, Adam’s son, who is depicted being taken up to heaven by angels. This is an excellent work and should form the basis for all future study and speculation on the Otranto Mosaics!
