Based on a Thesis first written in 1964, covering the opus sectile mosaics in Byzantine buildings in Turkey, this is an excellent study of the geometric interlaced designs sometimes referred to as Cosmati. The original 1964 b & w photographs are a little disappointing, but the clear coloured drawings of the designs more than compensate!
