Philadelphia based artist, Jessica Gorlin-Liddell, was first inspired to learn the ancient art of mosaic after visiting the works of Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona, Spain in 1993.

With a background in Ceramics, mosaic art was a natural step. She began by using pottery shards and handmade tile and later incorporated commercial tile, stained glass and found objects into her work. She created a line of mosaic housewares and started Bella Mosaic Art.

She soon expanded her business to include custom furnishings and installations, working in collaboration with designers, architects, contractors and homeowners. In 2001, Jessica was selected to create a series of four mosaic medallions for the Halpatiokee Regional park in Stuart, Florida. She was awarded the commission after responding to a nationwide call for artists put out by Martin County's percent for art program.

This opportunity helped pave the way for public works she has created throughout the country. Her interest in arts education has also led Jessica to direct collaborative mosaic projects with children and adults in schools and community centers.
