Petition for a new Director at the Tate Galleries
As most of you might know, the current Director of the Tate Galleries,
Sir Nicholas Serota, has for the last eight years famously refused
to consider showing contemporary mosaic art at Tate Modern. He has
been quoted as saying that the place to see modern mosaics should
be the Victoria and Albert Museum.
If you, like a lot of mosaic artists, feel that he should not be
re-appointed as Director at the end of his term there is now a petition
on the 10 Downing Street web
site that you can add your name to. The petition address is
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/tatedirector/.
Please add your name and let's see if we can at last get modern
mosaic on display at Tate Modern. |
