The much-anticipated reopening of St Andrew’s Cathedral in
Glasgow next month has moved a step closer with the laying of a
stunning circular floor mosaic.
Tens of thousands of stones from around Bethlehem have been fashioned
in green, yellow, white and blue by Jerusalem craftsmen to depict
the coat of arms of the Archdiocese of Glasgow. The work was flown
to Glasgow last week to be laid by parishioner Michael McFadyen
of Tilecraft.
Archbishop Conti said: “It is a wonderful link between Glasgow
and its twin city Bethlehem.”
